PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY FOR THE SEATTLE CHINESE GARDEN
(All photography activities will be within regular Garden open hours only)
PERSONAL PHOTOGRAPHY
We welcome photographers and artists taking photos in the Garden for their own personal use. You are permitted to use your personal cameras and folding tripod or monopod stands. Stands should fit inside a standard backpack. Personal photographs of small groups (10 people or fewer) such as but not limited to wedding, graduation, or engagement photos for your own personal use are allowed.
Keep pathways clear
Stay out of planting beds
Do not disturb or remove plants, plant parts, plant labels, markers, or containers
Do not climb on the rocks or in the trees
Be courteous of other visitors and maintain a peaceful atmosphere

COMMERCIAL & PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Commercial photography includes, but is not limited to, photography taken within the Seattle Chinese Garden for the purposes of promoting a product or service, producing print or digital media for sale, and photography for business purposes, such as any portrait photography taken by a fee-charging photographer. A permit is required for commercial photography. Requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us at least 10 business days prior to your visit to be added to our calendar. Prescheduling your shoot is essential; we may be unable to accommodate requests made less than 10 days prior to your visit.
Commercial Photography:
$50 2-hour permit
$100 half-day permit
Commercial Filming:
$50 2-hour permit
$150 half-day permit
