Embracing Change
Thank you for supporting the Seattle Chinese Garden!
This year has been a time of adaptation and transition. Amid changing rules and regulations regarding Covid-19 policies, the garden has continued to grow. This year as soon as local law permitted, we reopened the Garden to the public and began holding some of our regular festivals and events, such as the Peony Festival and Bamboo Circle. We also hosted the Metropolitan Fashion Week show.
The Knowing the Spring Courtyard and Song Mei Pavilion have been refinished, thanks to a generous gift from Maryanne Tagney and David Jones. In addition, Garden Manager Julian Leung, students from South Seattle College, and our horticulture volunteers, used a grant from the Seattle Garden Club to expand and enhance our hillside peony garden. The Garden will really sparkle when the peonies are in bloom next spring.
Next year, we will continue the renovation of Knowing the Spring by cleaning and repairing its roof tiles. We will also continue our cycle of festivals and celebrations. Our Bamboo Circle Celebration once again will be on the first Thursday in August. Please mark your calendar for August 4, 2021! And, please look for notices as we schedule our other regular events.
Please make a year end gift to support the Garden’s programs and maintenance by giving through our Donation Portal!
