Construction at the Garden
Education Center
Currently construction is complete on the Education Center, a project jointly funded by the Garden and South Seattle Community College. Dedication of this building took place on January 10, 2008. Named for the major private donors, the building is named the "Judge Warren and Nobie Chan Education Center".
Knowing the Spring Courtyard
Grading and excavation has begun for "Knowing the Spring Courtyard", the second traditional structure in the Garden. We plan to have the Grand Opening of this courtyard on 8/08/08, a very auspicious date on the Chinese calendar. To see actual construction progress at the site, click on WebCam Knowing Spring.
Site Maintenance
We continue to plan the
construction wisely, with phasing options that align with our ongoing
fundraising efforts.While we continue our
planning work, we are maintaining the site and tending to the relocated
plants. Earlier this year, we received 300 mature Timber Bamboo
plants from a generous donor and will add them to the on-site nursery. We look
forward to sharing the next phase of construction with you
soon.
