5th Annual Peony and Bamboo Festival: 1,400 visitors on May 6-7!

Our fifth annual Peony and Bamboo Festival drew an estimated 1,400 people over the weekend. All enjoyed wonderful cultural performances, starting with the lion dance in the courtyard and parade around the Garden, led by Sifu David Leong of Northwest Kung Fu and Fitness. The gorgeous peonies were photo magnets, and many first-time visitors also explored the bamboo groves and the big field. Watch for more photos and details in email updates and on Facebook. Thank you to everyone who attended the festival, and those who helped make it a great success, including our hard-working staff and volunteers. We especially thank our festival cosponsors — American Peony Art and Culture Association, American Bamboo Society Northwest Chapter — and our collaborators, the Confucius Institute of Washington and the Pacific Science Center.
